EXPERIENCE

Samuel E. Chilakos’ practice is focused on corporate, commercial and real property disputes as well as transactional matters for clients in a variety of industries, including entertainment and real estate development.

 

Samuel earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with an option in accountancy from California State University, Long Beach in 1988.  Thereafter, he joined Deloitte Haskins & Sells (now Deloitte & Touche), one of the “Big Four” international accounting firms, where he obtained the necessary experience and obtained licensure as a certified public accountant in 1990. After leaving Deloitte& Touche, Samuel served as the assistant controller for All American Communications, an entertainment mini-conglomerate best known for its “Baywatch” television show.

 

Mr. Chilakos received his J.D. cum laude from Pepperdine University School of Law.  After his admission to the Bar, Mr. Chilakos served as General Counsel and Chief Financial Officer of a publicly-held entity in the restaurant industry, and as Director of Affiliated Labels at Virgin Records America. He joined Ivie McNeill Wyatt Purcell & Diggs in 2009.

 

At Ivie McNeill Wyatt Purcell & Diggs, Ms. Chilakos has litigated many business and real property disputes and provided transactional services to clients in a variety of industries.  He also served as an expert witness on financial matters and provided key expert witness testimony in a licensing dispute matter that resulted in an award of more than $8 million.
